Arsenal 1-1 Aston Villa Match Report

Well as i was unable to watch the game i can't really write alot but i will try my hardest!

In a very eventful game which saw Villa take the lead through an own goal by Phillipe Senderos in the first Half Hour, Gabriel Agbonlahor put in a decent cross which Senderos was unable to deal with.

Both teams had good chances which i HEARD about through BBC Sport.
In the last TWO seconds of Extra Time Emmanuel Adebayor Assisted Nicklas Bentdner to score the last kick of the game- Adebayor was Assisted from a Gael Clichy cross.

I aplogize for the shortness of this report but i can only report on what i heard, i was also pressed for time.

24th February 2008 'Daily Round Up'

Not alot happend to day apart form one or two things-one important, one not important.
I'll start with the Important one, Well Arsenal striker Eduardo Da Silva had a successful operation at Selly Oak Hospital and has now been taken to another hospital in london where he will continue his recovery for the next couple of weeks.
Everyone realated to the club is wishing him all the best on his road to recovery!

Now for the 'Less' important piece of footballing news today, Tottenham Hotspur won the carling cup today after beating Chelsea 2-1 - a Jonathon Woodgate goal which looked very lucky was scored in the last 30-20 minutes of the game.
C(A)shley cole was droped from the Chelsea team and replaced by Wayne Bridge.
The Carling Cup, also known as the ''Mickey Mouse'' Cup to some fans returned to the Wrong side of North London today and Chelsea Were unable to do anything about that.

Birmingham 2-2 Arsenal

Well what a bad day for The Arsenal, first we lose are best finisher Eduardo after TWO minutes and then we concede a penalty in the last 30 seconds of the game.
First of all lets start with Eduardo injury, ''Eddy'' took the ball past Martin Taylor and then the birmingham player done a tackle which won't be forgotten quickly, Taylor later got a red card and was sent off.Eduardo was being treated for NINE minutes before he was taken of the pitch by a stretcher and then taken to the hospital, Everyone connected with the club wishes Eddy well in his recovery and hope that his broken leg it seems is not Carreer threating or worse...Life threating.

Moving on to the latter of the match it was thought Arsenal would be able to capitalise on the count of birmingham having to play 88 minutes with 10 men, that was not the case.
Birmingham scored to first goal through a free kick on the edge of Arsenal's area which Mathiou Flamini gave away, james McFadden took this great chance to go ahead, although Manuel Almunia, Arsenal's goalkeeper did get a hand to the ball but the kick was hard and was placed at the top corner of the goal-No goalier would have saved it.

Half Time

I have no idea on what Arsene Wenger said to his team in the 15 minute break but it certainly worked wonders for the gunners with Theo Walcott who seemed to tap it in with the outside of his foot after Emmanuel Adebayor managed to head the ball out of the Maik Taylors hands (Taylor had 1 hand touching the ball).
Arsenal Done it again through another Theo Walcott goal and it was a brilliant finish, he took it down the wing got it around one birmingham player and fired in Maik Taylors Left post.

With 30 SECONDS remaining Arsenal looked to have snatched the win, but this wasn't to be.
The ball came down to Gael Clichy who seemed to leave the ball for some reason and let it bounce which allowed the birmingham player to come in from behind clichy and take a shot, But clichy took out the birmingham players legs and gave away a penalty right at the death so James McFadden steps up fires into the top of the goal leaving no chance for Almunia to save, But Almunia did dive the right way but he was too low to save it.
When the final whistle went William Gallas just sat on the grass holding in his anger for about FIVE minutes after the whistle went he then got up after Arsene Wenger shook his hand and went into the dressing room with him.

The Highlight of the match was Eduardo's Terrible Injury which looks like it will keep him out for the Euro 2008 Competition in the summer.
Once again get well soon Eddy (Eduardo).

Half Time: Birmingham 1-0 Arsenal

Dear oh dear what a bad half for the Gunners, First losing Eduardo to a SCARY Lunge from Birminghams Martin Taylor who got a Red card which the ref didn't hessitate to get out of his pocket, but anyway the hearts of all Arsenal fans go out to Poor Eduardo who looks to be out for the rest of the season with a broken leg it looks like, lets all hope its not carreer threating or even worse...life threating.

As Arsenal carried on the match NINE MINUTES later they didn't work their best- not surprisingly right after the horror tackle, we had some good crosses put in for Adebayor and Bendtner but about 10-15 minutes later Mathiou Flammini gave away a free kick right on the edge of the area where Birmingham took their chance and scored through a James Mcfadden free kick which Manuel Almunia got a hand to put the shot was to powerful for him to stop.
